Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (BR:UMI), which rose 1.83% or 0.71 points to trade at 39.42 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 1.37% or 0.34 points to end at 24.85 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 1.26% or 0.34 points to 27.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which fell 2.38% or 0.85 points to trade at 35.01 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.31% or 1.050 points to end at 79.280 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was down 1.15% or 1.40 points to 120.45.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 69 to 50 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.38% or 0.85 to 35.01.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.65% or 8.27 to $1283.57 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.62% or 0.35 to hit $56.77 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.25 to trade at $62.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1739, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.8869.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 93.88.
