Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 1.14% or 0.78 points to trade at 68.91 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 0.75% or 0.18 points to end at 24.74 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 0.68% or 0.85 points to 125.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which fell 0.58% or 0.85 points to trade at 145.45 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 0.56% or 0.08 points to end at 14.32 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was down 0.52% or 0.205 points to 38.960.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 65 to 47 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Umicore NV (BR:UMI) rose to all time highs; rising 1.14% or 0.78 to 68.91. Shares in bpost NV (BR:BPOST) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.75% or 0.18 to 24.74.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.58% or 7.57 to $1303.93 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.54% or 0.28 to hit $51.94 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.08% or 0.63 to trade at $57.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.1773, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8770.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 92.97.
