Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 4.67% or 1.16 points to trade at 26.00 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 2.82% or 4.60 points to end at 168.00 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) was up 2.07% or 3.90 points to 191.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 2.71% or 0.72 points to trade at 25.84 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 2.39% or 11.50 points to end at 468.70 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) was down 0.99% or 0.70 points to 70.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 50 to 49 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB SA (EBR:UCB) rose to all time highs; up 2.82% or 4.60 to 168.00.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.69% or 18.30 to $2,670.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.72% or 1.21 to hit $71.58 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.75% or 1.28 to trade at $74.49 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 100.29.
