Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 1.69% or 0.41 points to trade at 24.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 1.13% or 0.33 points to end at 29.09 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 0.96% or 0.53 points to 55.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which fell 1.36% or 1.75 points to trade at 126.90 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 0.60% or 0.36 points to end at 59.97 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was down 0.46% or 0.50 points to 108.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 66 to 49 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in bpost NV (BR:BPOST) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.69% or 0.41 to 24.66.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.74 to $1312.54 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.81% or 0.41 to hit $49.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.85% or 0.47 to trade at $55.01 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1981, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 91.66.
