Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 3.09% or 0.32 points to trade at 10.67 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 1.32% or 2.45 points to end at 188.40 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) was up 1.02% or 0.70 points to 69.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which fell 3.24% or 1.04 points to trade at 31.06 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 2.83% or 1.60 points to end at 54.85 and Elia (EBR:ELI) was down 2.22% or 2.00 points to 88.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 46 to 44 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB SA (EBR:UCB) rose to all time highs; rising 1.32% or 2.45 to 188.40.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.45% or 11.99 to $2,670.49 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.88% or 1.96 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.59% or 1.86 to trade at $73.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 106.21.
