Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 2.44% or 0.30 points to trade at 12.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 2.44% or 2.43 points to end at 101.95 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 0.85% or 0.64 points to 75.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which fell 7.58% or 2.33 points to trade at 28.42 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 5.98% or 0.70 points to end at 11.00 and Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:TNET) was down 2.30% or 1.02 points to 43.26.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 62 to 52 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aperam SA (AS:APAM) fell to 52-week lows; falling 7.58% or 2.33 to 28.42. Shares in bpost NV (BR:BPOST) fell to all time lows; falling 5.98% or 0.70 to 11.00.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.38% or 16.90 to $1209.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.02% or 0.62 to hit $60.05 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.84% or 0.59 to trade at $70.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1321, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8723.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 96.80.
