Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 2.37% or 0.305 points to trade at 13.155 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 1.40% or 0.30 points to end at 21.73 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was up 1.20% or 0.48 points to 40.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which fell 1.83% or 0.46 points to trade at 24.62 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 1.11% or 0.13 points to end at 11.59 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was down 0.45% or 0.21 points to 46.51.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 77 to 69 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.83% or 0.46 to 24.62. Shares in Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) fell to all time lows; down 1.11% or 0.13 to 11.59.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.27% or 3.30 to $1221.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.33% or 1.01 to hit $42.40 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.19% or 0.98 to trade at $43.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.18% to 1.0726, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.8594.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.12% at 100.10.
