Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Pharma & Bio-technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 2.90% or 1.90 points to trade at 67.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Ageas (BR:AGES) added 1.65% or 0.760 points to end at 46.950 and Sofina (BR:SOF) was up 1.28% or 2.20 points to 173.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which fell 2.85% or 0.54 points to trade at 18.41 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 1.69% or 0.21 points to end at 12.25 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was down 1.49% or 0.31 points to 20.54.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 64 to 50 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.85% or 0.54 to 18.41. Shares in Ageas (BR:AGES) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.65% or 0.760 to 46.950.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.60 to $1206.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $72.11 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.86% or 0.69 to trade at $81.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.1771, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8942.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 93.70.
