Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 2.34% or 1.00 points to trade at 43.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 1.39% or 0.81 points to end at 58.90 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 1.06% or 0.70 points to 66.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 1.39% or 1.100 points to trade at 77.880 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 0.82% or 0.95 points to end at 114.95 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was down 0.73% or 0.10 points to 14.23.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 86 to 33 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.27% or 3.60 to $1312.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.36% or 0.22 to hit $60.20 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.73% or 0.49 to trade at $66.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.2049, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8863.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 91.61.
