Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 2.24% or 0.57 points to trade at 26.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) added 1.73% or 1.12 points to end at 65.70 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 1.30% or 0.530 points to 41.230 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 1.67% or 1.520 points to trade at 89.240 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 1.48% or 0.900 points to end at 59.740 and Sofina (BR:SOF) was down 1.15% or 2.00 points to 172.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 63 to 51 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.35% or 4.55 to $1279.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.10% or 0.58 to hit $53.20 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.13 to trade at $61.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.1312, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8687.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 96.268.
