Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 1.93% or 0.92 points to trade at 48.56 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB (BR:UCB) added 0.97% or 0.60 points to end at 62.76 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was up 0.92% or 0.42 points to 46.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB), which fell 1.29% or 1.24 points to trade at 94.96 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.03% or 0.780 points to end at 74.820 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was down 1.03% or 1.20 points to 115.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 66 to 42 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.43% or 5.70 to $1317.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.38% or 0.26 to hit $68.36 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.06% or 0.78 to trade at $74.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.2091, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8789.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 91.54.
