Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Construction and Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Befimmo-Sicafi (BRU:BEFBb), which rose 2.30% or 1.480 points to trade at 65.690 at the close. Meanwhile, Belgacom (BRU:BCOM) added 2.03% or 0.65 points to end at 32.37 and Ageas (BRU:AGES) was up 1.55% or 0.515 points to 33.785 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BRU:ABI), which fell 0.71% or 0.80 points to trade at 112.65 at the close. Telenet Group (BRU:TNET) declined 0.69% or 0.36 points to end at 51.90 and Bekaert (D) (BRU:BEKB) was down 0.55% or 0.14 points to 26.33.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 105 to 60 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ageas (BRU:AGES) rose to 3-year highs; up 1.55% or 0.515 to 33.785.
Gold for April delivery was up 0.32% or 3.80 to $1191.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.30% or 0.14 to hit $47.31 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.01% or 0.56 to trade at $55.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.0925, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.7348.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 97.39.
