NEW YORK, Oct 29 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks rose at the open on Thursday, with technology shares lifting the Nasdaq up more than 1 percent, after a data showed the economy grew faster than expected in the third-quarter.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 71.19 points, or 0.73 percent, at 9,833.88. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained 8.88 points, or 0.85 percent, to 1,051.51. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 19.97 points, or 0.97 percent, to 2,079.58.
