Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Food & Beverages and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.67% to hit a new 3-years high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX), which rose 19.51% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 3.64% or 0.040 points to end at 1.140 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 3.41% or 0.030 points to 0.910 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Edegel (LM:EDE), which fell 2.95% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.300 at the close. Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) declined 1.71% or 0.290 points to end at 16.710 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) was down 1.18% or 0.140 points to 11.700.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 21 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.65% or 0.80 to $47.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $52.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.19 to trade at $1293.51 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2375, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.8203.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 93.23.
