Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which rose 2.87% or 1.32 points to trade at 47.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 1.29% or 1.60 points to end at 125.50 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 0.75% or 0.17 points to 22.02 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 1.12% or 0.750 points to trade at 66.500 at the close. Umicore NV (BR:UMI) declined 0.48% or 0.32 points to end at 66.48 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was down 0.37% or 0.40 points to 108.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 62 to 50 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.29% or 1.60 to 125.50.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.48% or 5.89 to $1233.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.56% or 0.26 to hit $46.28 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.37% or 0.18 to trade at $48.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1475, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.8786.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 94.94.
