Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Trading and Diversified Holdings sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Central Industries PLC (CM:CIND), which rose 101.91% or 58.60 points to trade at 116.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Lee Hedges PLC (CM:SHAW) added 17.07% or 64.00 points to end at 439.00 and Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) was up 9.33% or 3.50 points to 41.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING), which fell 19.44% or 17.50 points to trade at 72.50 at the close. Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) declined 16.48% or 375.00 points to end at 1900.00 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was down 8.24% or 2.80 points to 31.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 90 to 82 and 55 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $41.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.25% or 0.11 to hit $43.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.94% or 12.55 to trade at $1347.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.36% to 191.550, while USD/LKR fell 0.69% to 144.770.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 96.53.
