Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which rose 0.68% or 0.035 points to trade at 5.170 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED) added 0.48% or 0.035 points to end at 7.350 and Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) was up 0.23% or 0.0100 points to 4.3300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US), which fell 8.22% or 0.152 points to trade at 1.698 at the close. Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) declined 6.14% or 0.1420 points to end at 2.1720 and Snam (MI:SRG) was down 5.27% or 0.274 points to 4.926.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 258 to 149 and 16 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.24% or 0.60 to $47.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.44% or 0.70 to hit $48.02 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.31% or 3.85 to trade at $1249.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1206, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.7744.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 95.34.
