Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 7.23% or 0.300 points to trade at 4.450 at the close. Meanwhile, Panoro (LM:PML) added 1.27% or 0.001 points to end at 0.080 and Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) was up 0.60% or 0.030 points to 5.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ), which fell 2.73% or 0.250 points to trade at 8.900 at the close. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) declined 2.63% or 0.005 points to end at 0.185 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was down 2.60% or 0.007 points to 0.262.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 8 to 4 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.73% or 0.250 to 8.900. Shares in Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) fell to all time lows; down 2.63% or 0.005 to 0.185.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.34% or 0.12 to $36.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.31% or 0.12 to hit $37.40 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.27% or 13.50 to trade at $1073.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.00% to 3.4137, while EUR/PEN rose 0.66% to 3.7327.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 98.92.
