At the close of European trade, Germany’s DAX rose 1.86%, London’s FTSE 100 gained 0.86%, France’s CAC 40 climbed 1.63% and the EURO STOXX 50 was up 1.69%.
Earlier in the day, official data showed that The number of people unemployed in Germany fell less-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted -8K last month from -33K in the preceding month whose figure was revised up from -37K.
Analysts had expected German unemployment change to fall -31K last month.
Meanwhile, on Wall Street, equity markets were up after the open. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.45%; the S&P 500 index gained 0.43%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 0.67%.
