Investing.com – Italian retail sales slipped further than forecast in April from a month earlier, official data showed on Thursday.
In a report, Italy's statistics agency said retail sales fell 0.3% during the month, after rising 0.5% in March.
Economists had expected a more modest decline of 0.1% in April.
Following the release of the data, the euro was down against the U.S. dollar, with EUR/USD shedding 0.15% to reach 1.2292.
