Investing.com - President Donald Trump will use the Defense Production Act that he recently invoked to produce test kits for the coronavirus, according to published reports Tuesday.

The Act, which gives the administration the power to have companies produce goods for national defense, will be used to get 60,000 test kits into the hands of healthcare workers, Peter Gaynor, Federal Emergency Management Agency administrator told CNN.

Trump has been resistant to use the law, saying companies have been producing what has been needed already, while the GOP are also hesitant to appear to be nationalizing any industries.
