Investing.com - U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday that an attack on Syria could come “very soon, or not soon at all,” rowing back from a claim the previous day that military action was imminent.
The president said on twitter that he never said when an attack on Syria could take place.
Just twenty-four hours earlier the president had warned Russia to "get ready" for imminent military action in response to an alleged chemical weapons attack on civilians over the weekend and castigated Moscow for standing by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Both Syria and Russia have said the reports of the gas attack were fabricated and have accused the U.S. of attempting to use it as a pretext to attack the government.
