WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate intelligence committee wants some former aides of President Donald Trump to testify in its investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, CNN reported on Thursday, citing senators who sit on the panel.

CNN said lawmakers wanted to hear directly from former Trump aides who have been named in news reports, including Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign manager; retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, Trump's former national security adviser; and Carter Page, a foreign policy adviser to Trump's campaign.
