Spring training roundup: Giancarlo Stanton leads Yankees past Phillies

Giancarlo Stanton had two hits and two RBIs, Domingo German struck out six in four innings and the New York Yankees rallied to top the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 at Tampa, Fla., on Monday.

Phillies starter Chase Anderson kept his scoreless spring training alive with three shutout innings and Rhys Hopkins homered in the sixth inning.

With the score tied at 1 in the seventh, Stanton delivered a two-run single off Hector Rondon, the Phillies reliever whose Grapefruit League ERA rose to 11.57.

Rays 3, Red Sox 2

Brandon Lowe had a first-inning RBI single and Kevin Kiermaier doubled twice, raising his average to .500 during spring training, as Tampa beat Boston at Port Charlotte, Fla. Michael Chavis hit his fourth home run of spring training for the Red Sox.

Marlins 6, Astros 5

Jazz Chisholm went 2-for-2 with a stolen base, Sandy Leon had two hits and two RBIs and Florida withstood a four-run ninth inning to slip past Houston at West Palm Beach, Fla. Starter Jose Urquidy worked 3 2/3 innings for the Astros, allowing two earned runs.

Braves 5, Twins 1

Ronald Acuna Jr. homered and scored twice, Bryse Wilson threw four shutout innings and Atlanta stopped Minnesota at North Port, Fla. Luis Arraez had two hits for the Twins.

Orioles 12, Pirates 3

Jahmai Jones hit a three-run homer, Freddy Galvis and Austin Hays added solo shots and Baltimore pounded Pittsburgh at Sarasota, Fla. Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes homered off starter Matt Harvey.

Blue Jays 4, Tigers 0

Jonathan Davis hit a first-inning home run off Matthew Boyd and Hyun-Jin Ryu delivered four shutout innings, striking out four as Toronto blanked Detroit at Lakeland, Fla. Nomar Mazara had two of the Tigers' four hits.

Cardinals 4, Nationals 2

Nolan Arenado and Tyler O'Neill each had two hits and Dylan Carlson hit a home run as St. Louis rallied to stop Washington at Jupiter, Fla. Max Scherzer went four shutout innings with seven strikeouts and Ryan Zimmerman hit his third spring-training homer for the Nationals.
