WASHINGTON, Feb 8 (Reuters) - The head of President Barack Obama's Council of Economic Advisers, Christina Romer, said on Sunday the Obama administration still is working on the timing of the announcement of a bank bailout package.
Asked on CBS's "Face the Nation," about a possible delay in Monday's expected announcement by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Romer said, "We are still working out the actual timing."
"We need to get the stimulus package through and we do know that any package to get the economy healthy is going to be more effective if we get the banks healthy, because we have got to get them lending again," she said. (Writing by Jackie Frank; Editing by Bill Trott)
