TOKYO, March 30 (Reuters) - Japanese Finance Minister Naoto Kan said on Tuesday that he may discuss the issue of the yuan when he meets Chinese officials in Beijing this weekend for regular talks.
Kan, who is also deputy prime minister, told a news conference after a cabinet meeting that the two sides would exchange views on their economies and growth strategies.
The meeting is the third in a series of bilateral talks aimed at deepening financial dialogue between the two Asian neighbours.
Analysts say China's increasing regional influence is expected to keep Asian governments from pressuring the world's fastest growing economy into letting its currency strengthen for fear of economic or political repercussions. (Reporting by Tetsushi Kajimoto)
