* Automotive output down 63 percent in January-February * Ford Otosan exports down 75 percent

ISTANBUL, March 11 (Reuters) - Automotive output in Turkey was down 63 percent year-on-year in January and February while exports fell 62 percent as the credit crisis bit deep, the Automotive Industry Association (OSD) said on Wednesday.
Turkey's largest export market, the European Union, is in recession, while consumer confidence and demand at home are shrinking.
The biggest percentage fall in exports was shown by Ford Otosan, a joint venture of local conglomerate Koc Holding and Ford Motor Co. Its exports fell 75 percent to 12,038 vehicles in the January-February period.
Exports by Tofas, a joint venture between Koc and Italy's Fiat, dropped 54 percent to 18,910, while those of Oyak Renault fell 50 percent to 23,555.
OSD said last month it expected 2009 exports and production to fall 25 percent and domestic auto sales to shrink 20 percent.
The OSD predicted the auto market would not start recovering until the fourth quarter of 2009 under the most optimistic assumption. (Editing by Will Waterman and Dan Lalor)
