WARSAW, June 3 (Reuters) - Poland has a strong chance of seeing economic growth this year, the head of the country's central bank, Slawomir Skrzypek, said on Wednesday.
"We have great chances to sustain positive economic growth this year," Skrzypek said in an interview for the Polish Radio.
Statistics office data showed last week the biggest ex-communist economy of the European Union expanded by 0.8 percent year-on-year in the first quarter, below expectations.
Skrzypek, as well as most analysts, still expect some modest growth for the full year despite a deep recession in neighbouring Germany -- Poland's main trade partner. (Writing by Gabriela Baczynska; Editing by Kim Coghill)
