KIEV, July 17 (Reuters) - The office of Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said on Friday the International Monetary Fund was against the central bank directing financing the budget gap or using its profits in advance to do so.
A statement issued by Yushchenko's press service said he had spoken to IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn on Friday. The IMF is due to decide within weeks whether to disburse a third tranche of a $16.4 billion standby agreement.
