KIEV, Nov 25 (Reuters) - Ukraine will reach the budget revenues target of 177.5 billion hryvnias ($28 billion) by the end of the year, despite an expected drop this and next month, the finance ministry said on Tuesday.
A significant part of budget revenues comes from the metals, chemicals and manufacturing sectors which are now suffering from a lack of global demand and difficulties in financing.
The budget in the first 10 months of the year has been in surplus and revenues were 6.5 percent higher than targetted. The government is allowed a 2 percent budget deficit.
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said that the government will lower its macro-economic forecasts on Wednesday as the effects fo the worldwide financial crisis take a hold.
