WASHINGTON, Feb 11 (Reuters) - U.S. House and Senate negotiators on Wednesday approved a $789 billion economic stimulus measure of tax breaks and new government spending, readying it for final passage later this week, a senior Democratic senator said.
A committee of negotiators from both chambers signed off on a compromise proposal that had been worked out earlier in round-the-clock negotiations involving congressional leaders and the White House. Lawmakers said floor votes on the package could come as early as Thursday.
"It's agreed to," Baucus told reporters.
