Investing.com – Core retail sales in the U.S. rose in line with expectations in July, official data showed on Friday.
In a report, the Census Bureau said that core retail sales rose by a seasonally adjusted 0.2% in July, after declining 0.1% in June.
Analysts had expected retail sales to increase 0.2% in July.
Excluding food and energy, retail sales rose by a seasonally adjusted 0.4% in July, after declining 0.3% in June.
Analysts had expected retail sales to increase by 0.5% in July.
The report said that retail sales rose 0.4% year-on-year.
