MADRID, March 9 (Reuters) - Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero is planning a reshuffle in April which would include replacing his veteran Economy Minister Pedro Solbes, La Ser radio reported on Monday.
Solbes, minister since Zapatero took office in 2004 and a former European economic and monetary affairs commissioner, has been widely respected but his image has suffered during the economic crisis and it has been widely reported that he is tired of his job.
No spokesman for Zapatero's office was immediately available to comment on the report, which came a week after the ruling Socialist Party lost control of the regional government in Galicia in a result widely ascribed to the worsening economic environment.
A spokeswoman for Solbes had no comment on the report. (Reporting by Blanca Rodriguez, Manuel Maria Ruiz and Jason Webb; Editing by Victoria Main)
