SEOUL, June 3 (Reuters) - South Korea's Finance Minister Yoon Jeung-hyun said on Wednesday that export conditions are getting worse and asked ministries to monitor the country's overseas sales.
The remark followed the release of data showing exports from Asia's fourth-largest economy fell more than expected in May from a year ago, with growth in the value of daily exports posting the slowest pace in four months. [ID:nSEO370247]
"Circumstances surrounding exports are changing much... Please check changes in the export environment such as foreign exchange rates, oil prices and raw material costs," Yoon said before a weekly meeting with ministers.
Yoon also asked ministries to assess the impact on prices from the recent rise in raw material costs. (Reporting by Lee Shin-hyung, Writing by Cheon Jong-woo; Editing by Ken Wills)
