WASHINGTON, June 16 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama said on Tuesday he was committed to strengthening commercial ties with South Korea and removing trade barriers between the country and the United States.
"We want to work constructively with the Republic of Korea in a systematic way to clear some of these barriers that are preventing free trade between our two countries," Obama told a press conference with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak.
"I am committed to moving forward on a path that will increase commercial ties that are already very strong between our two countries," Obama said. (Reporting by Alister Bull; Editing by James Dalgleish)
