WASHINGTON, June 29 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama, speaking after a meeting with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, said on Monday he was confident the two countries could eventually get a free trade agreement approved by the U.S. Congress.
The administration of former President George W. Bush signed the free trade agreement with Colombia in November 2006 but was unable to persuade Congress to approve the pact and two others with Panama and South Korea before leaving office.
