WASHINGTON, March 11 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama will discuss the confrontation between five Chinese ships and a U.S. Navy survey vessel when he meets China's foreign minister on Thursday, the White House said on Wednesday.
"The incident involving the boats of the two countries will be on the list for discussion. I don't think it will overshadow it, but I think the president will continue to make clear our country's position," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told a daily briefing.
He said Obama and Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi would also discuss the global economic crisis, including the sensitive issue of the value of the Chinese yuan currency against the dollar.
