SHANGHAI, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Trade ties between the United States and China could lead to more prosperity but growth must be balanced, U.S. President Barack Obama said on Monday during his visit to China.
"The notion we must be adversaries is not pre-destined," Obama said, adding Washington did not seek to contain China's rise.
