WASHINGTON, April 12 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama backs Ukraine's efforts to tackle economic challenges through reform and working with the International Monetary Fund, the White House said on Monday.
Obama discussed the topic during a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich, on the sidelines of a nuclear security summit in Washington.
"President Yanukovich stressed his commitment to addressing Ukraine's economic challenges through implementation of systemic reforms and the resumption of Ukraine's cooperation with the IMF. President Obama supports that commitment," the White House said in a statement issued on behalf of the two leaders.
