Investing.com - Sales of newly built U.S. single-family homes rose far faster than expected in April, official data showed on Wednesday.
In a report, the U.S. Census Bureau said such sales were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 504,000 during the month, up from 439,000 during March, whose figure was revised from 411,000.
Economists had expected April's figure to come in at 425,000.
Following the release of the data, the U.S. dollar was up against the euro, with EUR/USD plunging 0.85% to hit 1.224.
