N. America April FX volume slumps 26 pct on yr-FXC

NEW YORK, July 27 (Reuters) - The average daily volume in total over-the-counter foreign exchange instruments in North America fell 26.3 percent year-on-year in April, according to a survey by the Foreign Exchange Committee (FXC) released on Monday.

The average volume was $527 billion in April, the lowest level since October 2005, the group of major U.S. domestic and foreign banks said. (Reporting by Gertrude Chavez-Dreyfuss; Editing by James Dalgleish)
