Mexico peso falls nearly 5 pct on quake, flu fears

MEXICO CITY, April 27 (Reuters) - Mexico's peso extended sharp losses on Monday after an earthquake shook the capital city and the government raised to 149 the death toll of suspected victims of an outbreak of swine flu in Mexico and said the number of cases is seen rising.

The peso lost as much as 4.94 percent to 13.975 per U.S. dollar. (Reporting by Michael O'Boyle; Editing by James Dalgleish)
