TOKYO, April 27 (Reuters) - A senior official of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party said on Monday that Japan will likely need another economic stimulus package in the fiscal year starting in April 2010.
"We need measures to support the economy for the long term," the LDP's acting policy council chairman Hiroyuki Sonoda told a meeting in Tokyo.
The government has cut its forecast for Japan's economy to a contraction of 3.3 percent in the year to next March instead of its previous estimate of zero growth, as the world's No.2 economy remains in the grip of the worst recession since World War Two. (Reporting by Yuzo Saeki)
