JAKARTA, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Indonesia's annual economic growth eased in the third quarter to 6.1 percent, but was still marginally above expectations as the global financial crisis weighed on export demand, particularly for its commodities.
Southeast Asia's biggest economy grew in July-September 2008 by 6.1 percent from a year earlier, against 6.39 percent in the second quarter.
Analysts had forecast in a Reuters poll growth of 6.01 percent. They had also predicted growth would slip in 2008 to 6.15 percent from 6.32 percent in 2007, the strongest pace in over a decade.
Compared with the previous quarter, the economy grew 3.5 percent, faster than 2.44 percent in the previous quarter and against analysts expectations for 3.60 percent. The quarter-on-quarter growth rate is not seasonally adjusted. (Reporting by Adriana Nina Kusuma; Editing by Sugita Katyal)
