WASHINGTON, April 17 (Reuters) - The International Monetary Fund said on Friday its staff would recommend the release of about $5.6 billion in loans to Ukraine, and the executive board would consider it by mid-May.
If the board approves, the money would be released in two tranches of about $2.8 billion, each conditional upon a review of how Ukraine is progressing with an economic program recommended by the IMF. (Reporting by Emily Kaiser; Editing by James Dalgleish)
