HONG KONG, May 8 (Reuters) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Friday said China's economic indicators were "very encouraging" but more data for the months ahead is needed to determine a clearer picture.
"In China, we have vry encouraging indicators on investments and bank lending ... but the numbers are distorted by the Lunar New Year so we need more numbers," Joshua Selman, assistant director of the IMF's Asia and Pacific Department told reporters in Hong Kong on Friday.
