TOKYO, May 19 (Reuters) - Consumer demand in some advanced economies, including the United States, may not recover as strongly as in the past, the International Monetary Fund's No.2 official said on Tuesday.
IMF First Deputy Managing Director John Lipsky told a media roundtable that a return to growth by the middle of next year for the world economy should be positive for Japan's exports, but exporters should be conscious of potential changes in future global demand.
The IMF has forecast emerging economies to return to growth in the second half of this year and expects advanced economies to get back on a growth path in the first half of next year. (Reporting by Tetsushi Kajimoto)
