REYKJAVIK, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Iceland's central bank said on Friday the government had appointed Svein Harald Oygard, a former Norwegian central banker, as interim governor of Sedlabanki.
It said in a statement that Arnor Sighvatsson, the current chief economist of Sedlabanki, had been appointed as interim deputy governor.
Earlier, Icelandic government sources had told Reuters that a different former Norwegian central banker, Jarle Bergo, would be chosen as the interim head of the Icelandic central bank.
