BUDAPEST, Oct 13 (Reuters) - Hungary's economy ministry has informed leaders of the International Monetary Fund about the economic and budget outlook during a recent visit to Washington, the central bank governor said on Wednesday.
Central bank governor Andras Simor told public radio MR1 Kossuth in an interview that Hungary could finance itself from markets and there was no need for an IMF/EU-type lending agreement to finance the deficit and the current account.
However, he added that such a funding source would probably be cheaper than market-based debt issuance. Simor also said he had no information that any banks would be planning to leave Hungary.
