WASHINGTON, July 6 (Reuters) - G8 leaders will agree to fight trade protectionism and mobilize billions to boost agricultural investment in developing countries, according to a draft communique ahead of a G8 summit in Italy this week.
"Markets must remain open, protectionism rejected and factors potentially affecting commodity price volatility, including speculation, monitored and analyzed further," said a draft of the communique obtained on Monday by Reuters.
The draft communique said the G8 would mobilize billions of dollars over the next three years for agricultural development, but did not give a figure. (Reporting by Lesley Wroughton; Editing by Dan Grebler)
